Buen Fin 2026, Mexico’s biggest sales event, runs from Friday, November 13 to Tuesday, November 17. The challenge for brands is not to send more SMS but to send better: a clean base, consent, messages that cannot be mistaken for fraud and capacity for peak traffic.
To plan the rest of the season, see our 2026-2027 calendar of key dates for SMS campaigns in Mexico (in Spanish).
Dates and what changes this year

The 2026 edition, the 16th, lasts five days: from Friday, November 13 to Tuesday, November 17, and includes Monday the 16th, a public holiday for the November 20 Revolution Day. It is a long weekend with more shopping time and more messages competing for customers’ attention.
Each retailer can set its own validity for each promotion. If your offer is shorter than the event, say so in the message: it avoids complaints and protects trust in your brand.
Suggested message calendar
A good plan spreads sends before, during and after the event, and keeps promotional messages for customers who gave consent:
- Mid-October: clean the base, check consent for every number, exclude numbers registered with REPEP and run delivery tests.
- The week before (November 9 to 12): an early look at offers for opted-in customers, or sign-up for early access.
- Friday 13, morning: launch with the main offer and a single link.
- Sunday 15 or Monday 16: a segmented reminder for those who clicked but did not buy.
- Tuesday 17: last day, with a clear closing time.
- After the event: transactional order confirmation, shipping and delivery messages. See SMS for logistics and last-mile delivery.
Three or four promotional messages across the whole season are enough. More than that increases opt-outs and complaints.
How to write a Buen Fin SMS that does not look like fraud
During sales seasons, fake messages imitating stores and banks increase. Mexico’s financial consumer agency, Condusef, advises users not to open links received by SMS, so your message must be recognizable at first glance:
- Put your brand name first and always use the same sender.
- Use links on your own domain; avoid generic shorteners.
- Never ask for bank details, passwords or codes by SMS.
- Avoid artificial urgency and excessive capital letters.
- State the real validity of the offer.

Prepare delivery for peak traffic
On high-traffic dates, operators prioritize traffic and may delay deliveries. To make sure your messages arrive on time:
- Schedule large campaigns in batches and avoid sending everything at the same time.
- Keep transactional traffic (confirmations, OTP codes) separate from promotional traffic, so a campaign never delays a login code.
- Set up delivery report webhooks and review results by operator during the event.
- Keep the most common causes of non-delivery at hand: why an SMS is not delivered.
Budget and measurement
The cost of a campaign depends on the number of segments per message and on volume. A text over 160 characters or with emojis may be billed twice; we explain it in bulk SMS pricing in Mexico.
To measure sales and not just sends, add UTM parameters to every link and compare delivered, clicks and purchases by segment.
