How to use these templates

Every example is designed to fit in one 160-character segment when written without accents; if you prefer accents and emojis, remember the limit drops to 70 characters per segment and the message can cost twice as much. Replace the data in braces with the variables from your system or your contact file.

Commercial templates require prior consent from the recipient and an opt-out mechanism; transactional and informational ones do not. Read the article on SMS regulations in Mexico before launching campaigns.

Verification and security (OTP)

  • “MyApp: your verification code is 482913. It expires in 5 minutes. Never share it; MyApp will never ask for it.”
  • “Banco Norte: code to authorise a transfer of 5,000.00 MXN: 731904. If you do not recognise this operation, call 55 1234 5678.”
  • “StoreX: use code 205871 to change your password. If this was not you, ignore this message.”
  • “Fintech Ya: welcome. Confirm your number with code 660318 to activate your account.”

Appointments and reminders

  • “Clinica Reforma: a reminder of your appointment with Dr. Lopez on Thursday 12 at 10:30, Av. Reforma 250. Reply YES to confirm or CHANGE to rebook.”
  • “Taller Motor: your car is ready. You can collect it today until 7pm. Total: 3,200.00 MXN.”
  • “City Government: your licence appointment is on 15/03 at 9:00 at the Centro office. Bring ID and proof of address.”
  • “Universidad del Valle: enrolment reminder. Deadline: 20 March. Check your student portal.”

Collections

  • “Financiera Sur: hi {name}, your payment of ${amount} is due on {date}. Pay in the app, at OXXO or by transfer.”
  • “Financiera Sur: your payment of ${amount} is due today. Reference {reference}. Avoid late fees.”
